Turkey: TRT denies Tarkan's participation

The Turkish broadcaster responsible for the events in relation to the European Broadcasting Union namely TRT have denied the participation of the Turkish superstar Tarkan at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The news comes just days after his participation was "confirmed" by several Turkish newspapers who reported that some sort of pre-agreement which was said to have been formalised after the return of Hadise from Moscow where she reached a credible fourth place.

    tarkan is supertar he sings beautifull but I don't know he take victory or to Turkey !!

    c'est exacte tarkan peut etre demander il est connu mondialement il peu ramener la vistoire a la tuquir hors avant lui d'autre nom on été proposer à TRT comme en premier Emre Aydin suivi de Murat boz car la Turquie souhaite participer à l'Eurovision 2010 avec en chanteur jeue et non pas avec une chanteuse !!!

You will remember at the beginning of July, we reported of rumours of the results of the Turkish back up jury, that showed up some interesting reading. As we all know, each country must have a back-up jury whose votes are used in the event of problems with televoting. However, this year the votes of each jury were used to determine one qualifier from each of the semifinals. Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
