Eurovision 2009: EBU not to fund a winners tour in 2009

According to Belgovision.com, the European Broadcasting Union have decided that they will drop the tour this year as they cannot organise or fund the tour in 2009. This conclusion was made as the tour was found to be not beneficial to the contest and the costs outweighted the benefits.

Therefore this years winner will have to fund their own tour if they plan to do so.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
