Czech Republic: will be there in 2009

Many rumours are currently circulating in the fan world about possible withdrawals, one of the popular ones being the Czech Republic, who have so far come last and second last in their two participations at the contest.

However, ČT has confirmed that they are still interested in the Eurovision Song Contest, and will be taking part in 2009 as well.

As we all know, each country must have a back-up jury whose votes are used in the event of problems with televoting. Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
