Greece: Sakis Rouvas to Moscow

He is back again! Sakis Rouvas will represent Greece in Russia next year. Dimitris Kontopoulos will be the composer of the song.

Sakis Rouvas represented Greece in Eurovision 2004 with the song Skake it and reached third place. He also hosted the 2006 contest which took place in Athens.

The Greek national broadcaster confirmed the news to oikotimes.com, on the 15th July.

This makes Greece the first country, even before Albania, revealing its artist for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
