Ireland: The Big night nears
Tomorrow night, Ireland will choose one of six competing acts to represent the seven-time winning nation at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Yesterday, the songs were debuted on RTE Radio's Mooney show.
The six songs are:
Donal Shekan - "Double Cross My Heart"
One of the most controversial songs to enter a national final this year is Irelande Douze Points by Dustin the Turkey. Many people have argued that gimmick acts devalue the competition as a 'song contest', now you can listen to the song and judge according to the music. Many in Ireland feel that the song is catchy and may not be able to be stopped. It is a dance act that will compete with pop, balads and blusey jazz in what is considered a strong final.
You can watch Eurosong 2008 online (worldwide) at www.rte.ie/live at 7.00pm and 9.45pm (The Results Show) on Saturday, 23rd February 2008.
