The Eurolaul final was held on February 2nd in Tallinn with the winner being chosen in two rounds of televoting, the first to select the top three, the second to pick the winner. In one of the biggest winning margins of the year, the group Kreisiraadio and "Leto Svet" (Summer World) took almost 50% of the vote and the ticket to Belgrade.

You will remember at the beginning of July, we reported of rumours of the results of the Turkish back up jury, that showed up some interesting reading. As we all know, each country must have a back-up jury whose votes are used in the event of problems with televoting. Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
