FYR MACEDONIA 2009

On the 21st February, the FYR Macedonian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held.

16 acts competed and in the end it was decided that Next Time will go to Moscow with the song Nesto sto ke ostane written by Damjan Lazarov and Jovan Jovanov.

    I am from Macedonia and i can say that this song is worst song ever sent from my country. I like this band but this song is simply bad for this competition.
    Everyone who understand the lyrics will see that it is a peace of shit.
    Bad combination of people music and lyrics.

    this song was the best mann i loved it we were the only country that carried the tradition of singing in our own laguage i reckon it was the best i loved it!!!!

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo. The list was confirmed by the EBU earlier today, and means that any countries that withdraw from here on in will face a fine. Absentees from last year are Montenegro, Hungary, Andorra, and the Czech Republic. Georgia returns to the contest after being disqualified over their attempted 2009-entry “We don’t wanna put in”. From the total of 39, the “Big-4″ (France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom) are directly qualified to the final, although with hosts Norway. That leaves 34 countries to contest two semifinals; seventeen in each, from which ten will qualify. The Eurovision final will run with 25 entries despite fewer participants this year.
