Denmark: Boyzone's Ronan Keating in Danish Final

According to the brilliant blog Schlager Queen, Ireland's Ronan Keating has written a song that has made it to the final 12 songs hoping to win the opportunity to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2009.

The song will be sung by Niels Brinck.

Ronan is known to Eurovision Fans as he co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin with Carrie Crowley. He is also in the Irish boy band "Boyzone".





The Danish final will take place on January 31st.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
