Israel: IBA confirm Noa & Mira as the 2009 representatives

Ahinoam Nini (Noa) and Mira Awad will represent Israel at the 2009 Eurovision song contest in Moscow.

That is the decision on the special Eurovision Committee assembled today lead by IBA chairman.

The song has yet to be announced.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
