France: Patricia Kaas says yes

Patricia Kaas has spoken for the first time about her decision to represent France in a television interview. The pre-recorded show will be broadcast on Sunday 8th February according to ESC Today.

Patricia Kaas has confirmed for the first time that she is to be the French entrant for this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. The broadcast will take place on Sunday 8th February on France 2's talk show "Vivement Dimanche".

    As an Irishman she will be getting my number 1. She would win it if only singing the alphabet. The contest has become a complete joke and ms kaas is the person to put it back on track

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
