Eurovision 2009: Rumours about the venue

Oikotimes reports that there have been rumours that the Eurovision Song Contest venue will be the Olympic Loezjniki stadium in Moscow, Russia.

This venue can have up to 84,000 visitors. Only a week ago, the UEFA Champion's League final was held there.

The Russian broadcaster has not confirmed the venue yet.

As we all know, each country must have a back-up jury whose votes are used in the event of problems with televoting. Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
