Ireland: Eurovision Discussion on popular chat show

Dana (Winner for Ireland in 1970), Dickie Rock (Represented Ireland in 1966) and Maxi (Represented Ireland in 1973 and 1981) appeared on the popular chat show in Ireland "Tubridy Tonight" on RTE One.

They all talked about the Eurovision in the past and how has it changed over the years. They also talked about the big topic at the moment, Dustin.

Ireland last won the contest in 1996 in Oslo and since then, things have gone downhill. Maxi said that picking Dustin was a great Idea and with the changes in the Eurovision at present, he will do very well. She also said that it was the younger generation that voted for Dustin in the National Song Contest.

Dana, who was disappointed about Dustin been picked to represent Ireland in February, said it was a bad idea to have a puppet turkey represent a country like Ireland in the contest, but she did wish him all the best. She also joked that Dustin should wear a tin foil outfit for the contest similar to an outfit worn by Katja Ebstein who represented Germany in 1970 (see video).

Unfortunately, viewers outside Ireland were not be able to watch the show live on that night, but it may be available on You Tube after the show or the shows page.
