Ireland: Eurovision panel discussion on RTE One

RTE has announced that there will be a special Eurovision panel discussion on Dustin the Turkey's chances in Belgrade next week on the popular chat show Tubridy Tonight, tomorrow night, Saturday.

The station did not mention who the actual guests are, but I am presuming the Eurovision Expert Paul G. Sheridan who is regularly on RTE Radio in the afternoon, will be one, maybe Dana (oh thats right, she hates Dustin) or maybe The Eurovision commentator for RTE, Marty Whelan. who knows.

Unfortunately, viewers outside Ireland will not be able to watch the show live, but it may be available on You Tube after the show or the shows page.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
