Russia: Dima threats with withdrawal, says Greek TV

The Greek TV station STAR Channel, airing a report live from Belgrade, claims that Russian delegation and Dima Bilan personally, are furious with the changes on the stage set of the Russian entry.

It was reported that the stair which was suppose to be used by Russia on stage, was finally removed as asked by RTS, due to the fact that they would not be able to get the stair down and put up the props in time for the last entry, Greece.

At the same time the Greek entry got really stuck in the trouble as RTS and EBU have now decided to use a commercial break between the Russian and Greek entry in order to get more time to change the stage sets.

Greek TV station STAR Channel claims that this threat by the Russians is one more publicity trick. On the other hand the Greek delegation is not thrilled with the commercial break before their entry. Greece is the last country performing in Tuesday's First Semi Final.

Kosovo: RTK wants to enter Eurovision as soon as possible

Kosovarian broadcaster RTK has shown interest in entering the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will soon apply for active EBU membership and will hope to get it in time to enter the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. As a national selection, they will use a contest which stopped years ago, called Akordet e Kosoves . The question remains whether RTK will be able to get active EBU membership, since countries like Serbia, Russia and Greece can object, as they don't recognise the new Republic of Kosovo.
